2007-11-03 03:28 »Rene henrettelser«
Våldets karaktär har förändrats (Malmø alene havde to skudepisoder dette døgn ) »Migrants take all new job in Britain« hvem sagde at "indvandringen rammer bunden hårdest og …

2007-08-11 22:46 Have you ever done a Ratner
I just posted about ghost-blogging and looked up Gerald Ratner as a warning for all those agencies considering giving their clients blogs. Ratner became infamous in the UK when he described his own company's jewellery produce as 'total crap'. The result: half a billion pounds wiped off the company valuation and he was kicked out 18 months later. However, I found a better link: turns out, there's an actual phrase, 'Doing a Ratner' and this page contains a superb list of other execs who have also …

2007-08-01 10:00 F.D.A. Panel Votes that Avandia is dangerous but to Keep it on Market
The New York Times reports: "A federal drug advisory committee voted 20 to 3 late this afternoon that Avandia, a controversial diabetes drug made by GlaxoSmithKline, raises the risks of heart attacks, but it then voted 22 to 1 that the drug should nonetheless remain on the market." Once again, an FDA panel (actually two combined panels)--six of whose members had been given waivers for their financial conflicts of interest--bowed to the commercial interests of a Big Pharma giant when it voted to …

2007-07-25 06:30 In-store danger
I popped out at lunchtime to pick up a sandwich and a few sundry items of which I had run out. Things like razor blades, sugar and toilet roll (it is much more embarrassing asking to borrow a toilet roll than a cup of sugar. Particularly if you are shouting your request out of an open bathroom window to passers by in the street). Anyway, I had picked up most of what I needed, and had reached the area where the razors are kept, when I noticed a shocking sign. I took a picture of it and put it her …

2007-07-23 20:56 Is this the real president of the United States
He rarely speaks in public and closely guards his privacy. But there's a growing consensus in America that it's Dick Cheney who calls the shots at the White House, on everything from the war in Iraq to climate change policy. Ed Pilkington reports Monday July 23, 2007 The Guardian There's a growing consensus in America that it's Dick Cheney who calls the shots at the White House. Photographer: Tim Sloan/AFP/Getty Images It is a party trick well known to curious teenagers across America. Zoom down …

2007-07-20 10:35 That s a school boy error Tel!
I was reading an article recently about Terry Semel, erstwhile Chief Exec at Yahoo! who jumped before he was pushed last month. Despite increasing revenue nine-fold to $6.4bn and user numbers three-fold to 500 million, ensuring Yahoo! is still the Web s most visited site shareholders were left largely unimpressed. Despite earning over half a billion dollars during his 6 year tenure Big Tel made possibly the biggest rookie mistake since Gerald Ratner s ill conceived comments about ˜total crap in …

2007-06-26 11:39 12 Customer-centred tips whatever your business
1 Serve others or yourself: your choice We have a choice every day of serving or being self-serving. Too many leaders are self-serving. We need new role models for leadership. 2 What business are you really in The financial services industry should aim to be in the "peace of mind" business. Disney doesn t say "We re in the theme park business." They say ˜We are in the happiness business." 3 What are your values Only 10% of companies set values. Those that do tend to make two mistakes too many va …
