2007-11-04 16:51 How to Rein in Iran Without War
By Jim Hoagland (THE WASHINGTON POST, 04/11/07): Iran is working to produce a 20-to-50-pound stockpile of enriched uranium that it can use to build atomic weapons within eight to 10 weeks, once it decides to do so - and has consistently lied to the United Nations about those efforts. That headline conclusion is one of two basic points that I draw from a series of private meetings on Iran 's nuclear ambitions involving diplomats, leading academic experts, senior military officers and experienced …

We need to bear in mind that the expatriot, anti Saddam forces in the west mislead us (for their own good reasons), BUT LONDON Iran is constructing a bomb-proof underground site for the development of nuclear weapons, opposition sources said. The National Council of Resistance of Iran said the new underground facility would be used for nuclear weapons production and assembly and was linked to the Natanz uranium enrichment facility.

2007-09-05 08:57 On the Drumbeat Toward Iran
Well, I haven't seen any posts on this, so I'm going to post this amazing article by Chris Hedges, and a few links for those of you unconvinced that we're going for Iran next. If anything, read Hedges' article (it's not that long, but I didn't want people to complain so I cut part of it). Two of the links provide some back-up to claims.. 2007-09-05 05:14 Presidents de-facto krigsförklaring mot Iran.

Will President Bush bomb Iran By Tim Shipman in Washington Daily Telegraph, UK 02/09/2007 In a nondescript room, two blocks from the American Capitol building, a group of Bush administration staffers is gathered to consider the gravest threat their government has faced this century: the testing of a nuclear weapon by Iran. 2007-09-03 15:20 The Next Quagmire
Posted on Sep 3, 2007 By Chris Hedges The most effective diplomats, like the most effective intelligence officers and foreign correspondents, possess empathy. They have the intellectual, cultural and linguistic literacy to get inside the heads of those they must analyze or cover. They know the vast array of historical, religious, economic and cultural antecedents that go into making up decisions and reactions. And because of this endowed with the ability to communicate and more able to find ways …

2007-09-01 23:44 The Iran-War Product Rollout Begins Abroad
By Cernig The Bush administration and their neocon enablers aren't waiting until Labor Day to begin their full-court press for war with Iran. They've already begun the roll-out in the UK press, from where internet pundits can import the propaganda back to the U.S. It's a tactic which has been used successfully by the Bush administration in the past and even one they can legally use military and intelligence agancy expertise in psyops to facillitate. There's no law against using federal agencies …

2007-08-29 09:23 Report says illegal Iran attack imminent
The United States has the capacity for and may be prepared to launch without warning a massive assault on Iranian uranium enrichment facilities, as well as government buildings and infrastructure, using long-range bombers and missiles, according to a new analysis. The paper, " Considering a war with Iran: A discussion paper on WMD in the Middle East " written by well-respected British scholar and arms expert Dr. Dan Plesch, Director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy of the Sc …

2007-08-26 15:26 Iran's Revolutionary Guards control a fiscal empire
By: Kim Murphy Beirut — Iran's Revolutionary Guard has quietly become one of the most significant political and economic powers in the Islamic Republic, with ties to more than 100 companies, which by some estimates control more than $12 billion in business and construction, economists and Iranian political analysts say. The Guard was created in 1979 as a military and intelligence force to protect the ideals of Iran's Islamic Revolution. But the 125,000-strong force has used the massive military …

2007-08-16 21:33 Iran's Centrifuge Components [7]
Back when experts were predicting 3,000 centrifuges at Natanz by the end of the July, I said I needed to see it to believe it. There is no evidence that Iran can mass produce the components of 3,000 centrifuges. The Iranians can claim mass production, but I want to see the evidence that Iran can mass produce ball bearings and maraging steel bellows for the P1. Diplomats have been saying Iran imported enough components for about 1,000 to 2,000 centrifuges. So, my guess is that Iran can make today …

According to this story from Britain s Guardian newspaper, Iranian authorities have apprehended two Chinese nationals on suspicion of espionage: "The Chinese nationals were detained while taking photos and recording videotape of a military complex in Arak city," Ali Reza Jamshidi, a spokesman for Iran's judiciary, said on state radio. 2007-08-10 09:34 10 August SWJ Op-Ed Roundup
˜Get it Done Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal In the lives of interesting people, there are bound to be interesting events. This is about one in the life of Gen. David Petraeus, commander of U.S. troops in Iraq. Gen. Petraeus of course will be all over television in September, reporting to Congress on the war, and America will be getting used to him. He is not in an easy position. The left and most Democrats are invested in the idea of Iraq as disaster. The right and most Republicans placed the …

2007-07-27 19:05 Cheney determined to strike in US with WMD
The greatest threat now is œa 9/11 occurring with a group of (neocon supported) terrorists armed not with airline tickets and box cutters, but with a nuclear weapon in the middle of one of our own cities. –Dick Cheney on Face the Nation, CBS, April 15, 2007 I was planning on doing something like this on August 6, the anniversary date of the now famous memo. But whereas mine would have poked fun at, and needled the administration, this guest is dead serious. I never have said this before …

2007-07-26 00:00 Iran: running for shelter...
Looking for insight always when it comes to Iran. I've stated it before I'm one of those people that solidly believes there are two Irans. The two are one map wise but when you think about the population and the rhetoric there is two. From the crackdowns on the women and young men on the streets of Tehran to the scimitar rattling of Ahmadingaling the puppet prez of the theocracy you see the problem. The "government" of Iran is the Revolutionary Guard and the Mulluhs/Ayatollah. There actions and …

2007-07-20 16:00 CULTURE: War With Iran: The Videogame(s)!
Videogames have been associated with warfare pretty much since the beginning. 1970s arcade rats that found Pong a bit too tame could, for the price of a mere quarter, experience a harrowing simulation of a dystopian future Earth locked in a life-or-death battle against implacable, unrelenting invaders from outer space. But it was the increasing popularity of the personal computer in the early 80’s that first allowed gamers to experience the raw reality of historical conflicts like World War 2 in …

2007-07-20 15:12 Iranian videogame rescues nuclear boffins
[Associated Press, 16 July] A videogame simulating an attempt to rescue two Iranian nuclear experts kidnapped by the US military and held in Iraq and Israel has been produced by an Iranian student group. In Rescue the Nuke Scientist, US troops capture a husband-and-wife team of nuclear boffins during a pilgrimage to Karbala, a holy site for Shiite Muslims, in central Iraq. Game players take on the role of Iranian security forces carrying out a mission code-named The Special Operation, which invo …
