Siehe dazu diese Profilseite (and click me): 1. Bild + Grundinfos zur Person 2. add as friend + send message 3. Buddies (Twitter like) 4. Links zu Plattformen, auf denen man aktiv ist 5. Kontaktmöglichkeiten 6. "Social Activities": Wo hat man was gemacht, unterteilt nach All, Photo, Video, Audio, Link, Text, M …

2007-08-30 17:00 Lots of reactions, comments and new ideas
While trolling the ' social network portability' mail list - I found some interesting ideas: - Julian Bond thinks Plaxo's approach rocks - Anthony Romano calls Brad's idea SNAP (Social Networks Aggregation Protocol) and even goes so far to name the format OFF (open friend format) - Tabber, NoseRub and the SocioPath wiki - hashing the value of FOAF: OnLineChatAccount - OpenID extensions - Privacy and then (of course) there's Plaxo's On-line Identity Consolidator - complete with source code. More …

2007-08-19 18:44 News on Portable Social Networks
Reading blogs over the last couple of days it seems portable social networks are the latest craze in the blogosphere. And rightly they are. People want to have control over their own data and they want to share it with whoever they like regardless of any specific social network. I have already mentioned Brian Oberkirch's great series of blog posts about the topic. Also LiveJournal founder Brad Fitzpatrick has written a thought provoking piece on the topic (with the help of David Recordon) which …

2007-08-17 20:55 NoseRub 0.1alpha released
I just packed and uploaded NoseRub 0.1alpha. If you rather would like to access the data through SVN, make sure you either get the latest branch (branches will always be stable), or the trunk. The trunk might be unstable. I just fixed some bugs and added a view of all "items" for each user - up to now, a list of items (photos, texts, links, etc.) were only shown in the network view. You could see that at this two screenshots. In all cases, read and follow the install instructions. The main page …

2007-08-17 09:10 Slides for BarCamp Cologne 2
I just uploaded the slides for my session at BarCamp Cologne 2 ( PDF ). As you can see from the Download URL, the files are hosted on GoogleCode, where I also put the source code for NoseRub. You can use noserub.com/code/ as a shortcut to the GoogleCode project homepage for NoseRub. The available version is pretty rough and there might be some changes this evening. I didn't create a branch right now, an archiv to download will follow this evening. But if you want to, feel free to get the trunk, …

2007-08-15 22:04 Two more days to go
Two days before BarCamp2 in Cologne. That means one evening for the latest preparations on the code and one evening for creating the presentation. Almost like always, I guess, the code is not as ready, as I would like it to be. But the two important aspects are working: seeing your network and show how the decentralised idea is meant to be. I also managed to add a little update routine, so that changes to the database or settings for NoseRub can easily be checked after installing a new release. …

Spannend ist es allemal, denn: The third step gets a lot more interesting and has only one main feature: * exch …

2007-08-02 07:06 Two early screenshots
(Click on the images to get a larger version of the screenshots) The first screenshots looks messy, but just displays my network's activities. Here all kind of actions are aggregated: Photos (Flickr, Ipernity, hq23), Links (del.icio.us) and Text (Blogs, Twitter, Pownce). I need to figure out a nicer way to display that mess... In this screenshot, the latest activities are filtered by type, in this case Photos. This looks much clearer here, but is also much easier to come up with a decent display …

2007-08-01 18:19 What is this all about
A few weeks ago, I did not only delete my Flickr-Account because of the censorship, but also started acting about an idea I went along for a few months now. One of the most important thing for me at Flickr was my contact page, where I could follow a lot of friends, people I work with, or worked with, or those I find interesting. Suddenly, all that was gone. Sure, I could add the RSS-Feed of every one of them to my feed reader. But why was there no "export my network" functionality And why did Fl …
