David Recordon of six apart + openid @web expo 2.0 berlin, my notes: Social netorks are mammoths, social apps ahve a few cool features. SNs HAVE your freinds, SAs WANT to know who yur frienda are. Facebook allowed to write social apps INSDE FB. Google Opensocial allows to build social apps 'across' SNs. and it is booming. Open Platforms should not be about company politics but about everything working together. (case: instant messenger warss leading to miranda and the like, GAIM, etc. -> all IMs …

Just my notes: Stowe Boyd spoke about social applivatins and what to consider when building them and I was specially impressed by the theortical part. social= about me (I make the decisions what I use and who my buddy is etc.) social scale:100 or 1000 contacts (depends on the relevance,1000 irrelevant is fine) sociality: what is the etikette Networks: collaboration makes more projects per oerson oossible "e-mail is the place knowledge goes to die" The value of the web is increasing w/ the number …

2007-10-09 18:04  OpenID Site Revamped
Last night the OpenID .net website has been revamped and eventually it is looking nice to end users as well. It is running on WordPress now, clean but not sterile layout and the familiar orange colour is still there, of course. Good job by the folks at Vidoop. Though even more important than obvious things like colour and layout is content; especially content for end users. The old site was targeting mostly developers. If you were looking for an OpenID provider you had to dig deeper in the wiki. …

Il sito ufficiale di openid si rinnova, in grafica e contenuti. As you can see, we ve touched just about every part of the site. The theme is upgraded, content reorganized and rewritten, no longer using a theme system from before the bubble, and a lot of other new tweaks. Il sito effettivamente adesso sembra molto più moderno e accattivante :) Ottimo lavoro!

Last Night Chris Saad announced a new version of the APML.org site. If you are unsure about what APML is or why it will be important to you, then have a read of this "beginners" guide to APML by Cleverclogs. APML was started about 18 months ago as an idea to standardise the format used to capture and share a persons attention metadata. Since its inception it has quickly gained momentum with bloglines and digg being the latest applications to announce plans to implement APML. Bloglines have also …

2007-10-03 18:01  Bloglines with (Partial) OpenID Support
Bloglines has has announced its support for OpenID yesterday. Well, more specifically Bloglines has become an identity provider (IdP) but currently won't accept logins with OpenID's from other providers. The OpenID's looks like this: http://id.bloglines.com/username. Though another company becoming an IdP but not consuming OpenID's is undesirable because active users who usually have accounts with a lot of services will end up with multiple OpenID's they can't use anywhere but at the provider's …

2007-10-01 21:14  Only big Identity Providers to Survive
Currently news are not so bad regarding OpenID. Orange and AOL are suppoprting it now, Symantec ( Update: see comments) will support it soon, and Yahoo - considering its assistance in finishing the IPR policy - will most likely jump on the bandwagon in one way or another someday, too. While it's great to see those big players - hey, and not all are "just" internet companies - joining the OpenID community, it makes me wonder if the decentralised nature of OpenID will persist. For OpenID to succee …
