2007-10-23 11:24  Podcamp: African style
Africa's first podcamp ROCKED. We had to take the tech to the trees at one point to avoid a roaming pride of lions. But it was all good :-P Thanks again to our generous sponsors ( Henk of Skyrove who provided wifi is the 2nd techmonkey in the tree - along with our WebAddiCT mashup meister who still owes me a muti Tshirt ), our valuable contributing speakers (esp. Brad Shrimpton of Apple for doing the podcasting walk.through & demos - see it really is THAT easy!) Good vibes, friendships forged an …

Brainchild of formidable online community developer Chris Brogan and fellow Chris, Chris Penn of Financial Aid Podcast - Podcamp has blossomed in all sorts of places around our planet where there are communities flourishing around new media. There are 7 rules that help form the framework of a Podcamp: All attendees must be treated equally. Everyone is a rockstar. All content created must be released under a Creative Commons license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/ All attendees …

2007-08-30 03:39  Presentationships
The deck is the deck is the deck ( not the "presentation"), but some decks stand out. Here's a new, striking, smart example: From Chris Brogan 's talk on presenting at PodCamp Pittsburgh2. The basic premise was that presentations are relationships, not to waste people s time, and to treat people like they re smart. "Presentations are relationships." Attention, listening, "communicating, conversing, connecting, creating" all factor into this, and so does putting the audience first. But 'audience …

2007-06-13 19:27  Podcasting is missing half a million in Europe
We as podcasters may be missing half a million or more audience members, and we don't even know it. Here's the thing I noticed all over Stockholm, and other European PodCampers confirmed in other countries - there were an awful lot of people listening. They had headphones jacked into devices all over the place. FEW of those devices were iPods. Of the ones that were MP3 players, the iRiver T series seemed to be the player of choice. For every MP3 player I saw, I saw 10 mobile phones being used as …

2007-04-07 18:31  PodCamp NYC '07
Well, PodCamp NYC '07 was quite a shindig! The world 'community' gets thrown around a good bit these days - but you can't help but full like the NY Podcasting community is alive and well after hanging out with 1,300 PodCampers at the New Yorker Hotel. The day started at 7am - and Chris Brogan was there, in a top hat and cape to bring the good mojo of the Boston PodCamp to NYC. Brogan, who co-founded PodCamp - is now working on Jeff Pulver's Network2 The Magnify.net booth was set up in no time, a …
