We all have some. Big deal. Don t assume the glass is half empty, when it s simply half a glassful. Don t …

2007-09-16 06:04 The Challenge is Closed
16-Sept-07 : The Challenge is officially closed. I would like to give special recognition to Steve Roesler at All Things Workplace for both the quantity and quality of the posts he produced; six in all. I am amazed by his ability to consistently produce high-quality posts. His final post in his weeklong series answering the " Does Most Leadership Suck, Including Yours... œ challenge, is our final entry. While it has been a challenge for me to keep up with all of the e-mail and comments this ques …

2007-09-13 20:28 Does Most Leadership Suck - The Challenge List: 13-Sept-07 Update
13-Sept-07 : It's been a very busy week for me. Sometimes, life just happens... 2007-08-30 04:10 KATRINA: LOOKING BACK IN ANGER
Its been two years. Democracy Now recapped: œThe storm made landfall south of New Orleans at 6:10 a.m. Aug. 29, 2005. The powerful hurricane ravaged the Gulf coast of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and left over 1,600 people dead. More than 300,000 homes were destroyed and over 770,000 people displaced. It was the most powerful and expensive natural disaster to hit the country and one of the deadliest hurricanes recorded in US history. Eighty percent of New Orleans was submerged under water …

2007-08-29 00:56 ChangeLinks - Hard to Choose
It's been a little while since I've done a ChangeLinks post, and it's not for a lack of lots of talented people producing lots of great content. In fact, it's been too hard for me to choose what to highlight! Here is just a small sampling of the great change and personal development material I've read recently. Scott H. Young shared a great post at Lifehack.org with 15 Steps to Cultivate Lifelong Learning. These are all great, but I especially like 12) Follow Your Intuition. As Scott writes, lea …

2007-08-21 08:00 State of the Sabres 2007-2008
Today TheNeilShow sits down with Tim Graham of the Buffalo News to discuss the state of the Sabres for the 2007-2008 season. TheNeilShow -Do the Sabres have enough depth at this point to stage a competitive team as last season Tim Graham -Darcy Regier said the Sabres will not be as good as they were last season, and I'm certainly not going to argue with him. The losses of Daniel Briere and Chris Drury will be felt in various ways throughout the season. The impact won't be something that simply w …

Ephesians 1:17-19 (English Standard Version) 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might There have been many t …

2007-08-17 20:19 Blog Action Day
One of the sites that I have on my Google home page is for Slow Leadership. which is dedicated to "returning humanity to the workplace". I like their tagline: Real leadership isn't an instant activity any more than a healthy diet is a hamburger, fries and a large soda Their blog today highlights the forthcoming Blog Action Day on 15th October. The purpose of Blog Action Day is for bloggers around the web to unite to put a single important issue on everyone's mind. In its inaugural year, Blog Act …

2007-08-15 23:33 How to set a team on fire
One our readers, Phil, posted a comment on an old post, Have no small meeting s, last week and asked for thoughts on something he wants to do. Here's the meat of the comment: One of the things that I've been focusing on is evolving the "meeting" from a one-way dialogue / monologue into a two-way conversation that empowers participants before, during and after the meeting or conference by leveraging tools (social networks, mobile devices etc...) The idea here is that if you empower your particip …
