2007-10-17 22:41  Islam Versus Judaism and Christianity: some observations
I did some research and found this to best one of the best answers to the old moral equivalency argument that we know so well around here. by Ariel Natan Pasko (found at http://www.sullivan-county.com/index.htm) The Islamic barbarians, or Isalmo-fascists, or whatever you call them, are running rampant in the world. Western civilization is under attack at every gate. Suicide bombings, televised beheadings, and mega-terror attacks like what occurred to the Twin Towers and Pentagon in America, the …

2007-10-17 17:58  DaveTV presents BILL HICKS LAST VIDEO INTERVIEW. (DaveTV)
I was lucky enough to know Bill for a short time. In that time, our mutual friend Kevin Booth asked me to have Bill on the show to promote his weekend's upcoming show at the Laff Stop to record his last live album. I thought he'd be coming on to do a bit of stand up, he got there & asked me "Hey Dave, who's doing the interview" I was the only one who'd be able to go on cam & do it - so I said "Interview Uhm, thatd be me" - so off I went, no notes, no idea that my friend Bill was anything more th …

2007-10-17 07:35  KIRO Part 2
The second segment has been added to Denise' page. So yesterday more than 500 seperate IP addresses followed that link from Sonicscentral to go check out the story. If those same 500 people each decided that they were going to get 5 friends to write letters to the governor and commissioner Stern, or if those same 500 people decided that they were willing to donate $20 or put in a few hours of active volunteering we could make an impact. I know many of you have already pitched in. There is just a …

2007-10-16 06:43  Wish Me Luck!
There's been so much going on lately that I've wanted to write about... the dramatic increase of "Hispandering" in the televised sports world, the Federal Judiciary stamping out all independent efforts to address the illegal immigrant invasion, Cal's historically predictable collapse against OSU, Ted Koppel opening up a can of whiny worms with his 'prison overcrowding' special... not to mention an election coming up (still hoping an 'immaculate candidate' will rise up and save us from four more …

2007-10-15 09:26  Daily Roundup 10.15.07
First of all some off-topic ranting: Ladies and gentlemen I give you Shaun Alexander: the only NFL skill position player more afraid of contact than a kicker. It's particularly frustrating to watch a guy who's paid like a top 5 guy at his position just fall down to the ground at the slightest touch. He reminds me of this sheep or goat (Edit: it's a goat, I found the video & have linked for your viewing pleasure) I saw on Animal Planet once. Its defense mechanism when faced with a predator is to …

2007-10-13 20:46  Priests come out on tv
From the AFP (H/T David Corcoran) The Vatican has suspended a senior cleric who confessed his homosexuality on a television programme, even though his face and voice were made unrecognisable, a spokesman was quoted as saying Saturday. "His superiors are treating this situation with the required discretion and respect due to the person concerned, even if this person has committed errors," Federico Lombardi told the Italian news agency ANSA. The daily La Repubblica identified the priest concerned, …

2007-10-13 07:20  The Right Moves
I may take some heat for this, but can I say that if you take all the off-court stuff out of the equation I really like the stamp Clay Bennett has put on this team. I listened to the radio broadcast yesterday and found it significantly more polished than a year ago. Everything from their ads, to their bumpers, to Matt Pinto who I enjoyed immensly. I hope this is not percieved as a shot at Locke who I really like personally, but it seemed like a better funded product to me. If so the radio broadc …

2007-10-12 19:57  The REAL Carolina
On the eve of the much-anticipated gridiron match-up between the upset-minded University of North Carolina and the seventh-ranked University of South Carolina - billed as the "Border War" - the Charlotte Observer contrasts the two schools to determine which Carolina is the REAL Carolina. And in a geographic-role-reversal, the Palmetto State comes out on top. The debate dates to Colonial times, according to a local historian, and is heating up in anticipation of Saturday's matchup between USC and …

2007-10-12 10:33  Larry "I've never been gay" Craig and wife to give interview to Matt Lauer...
Oh, the poor wife. Larry Craig is gonna trot out his long-suffering wife, Suzanne, for an interview with Matt Lauer to be televised next week. This is his first interview since his arrest for toe-tapping in an airport restroom. I'll be interested to hear what the wife, who seems like the loyal political spouse type, will say - if anything. Is her denial genuine or is she simply living out her part of the arrangement and enjoys being a senator's wife Many of Craig s Senate Republican colleagues h …

Jag förstår att läsare av denna blogg helst vill höra mina suveräna kommentarer, men så länge får ni nöja er med politiska journalister i USA. (OBS Peter, detta var ironi). 2007-10-11 03:22  We Don't Need A New Constitution; We Need The Old One
In an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times, Larry Sabato suggests that we scrap the constitution, convene a constitutional convention and come up with a new governing document. Now, such an idea shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. However, there is no such need. In fact, today's biggest problems stem from where the Constitution is being ignored, not where it's being followed. But let's look at Sabato's list of complaints. Restoring the war powers balance. The framers split authority concerning matter …

2007-10-10 00:30  A Tale of Two Sports
Hooray for the month of October. Even though it still feels like August or early September outside (today it was 93!), it is officially fall. Which means football. And baseball playoffs. Now, most of you know that I'm a die-hard football fan. Even when the Bengals suck, which is too much these days, I watch. When they have a bye week, I watch anyone. Another team from the AFC North or a good matchup. But I always watch. Normally, I'm not a big baseball fan. I'm sure my grandfather is rolling ove …

2007-10-09 09:05  Thoughts About Megachurches
America is usually regarded as the home of the biggest and the best. Well, the biggest, at any rate. So it should come as no surprise that some of the biggest churches in the world are to be found there. Of course the world s biggest is actually found in Seoul, South Korea. The Pentecostal Yoido Full Gospel Church, headed by David Yonggi Cho, has nearly a million members. But outside of a few giants such as that one, most of the megachurches are found in the US. Of interest in this regard is the …

2007-10-08 13:45  Bush is No Truman
50 years ago, on October 5, 1947, in the first televised White House address, President Truman asked Americans to refrain from eating meat on Tuesdays and poultry on Thursdays to help stockpile grain for starving people in Europe. The New York Times reported on the event and had this interesting paragraph: Bringing international diplomacy in as an unseen guest at the table of every American family, Secretary Marshall declared that the American larder was the "vital" instrument of peace and calle …

The first rule about Robot Fight Club is you do not talk about Robot Fight Club. Okay, okay,  I know. Reality bites hard in this "post"-Cold War era when Marxist revolutionaries-turned-democratically elected heads of government resort to their old tricks. Neo-Sandinista Nicaragua, for example, is a key component in the Communist Bloc's Latin American section. Here President Daniel Ortega, who is reverting to his old practices of nationalizing (stealing) private property and punishing political opponents, has revealed his true color: red. Pictured here: Comrade Dan buds around with Iranian Tyrant …

The possibilities for pairing characters up with themselves are endless! Although Daniel keeps getting left out of the alternate universes. Is this yet an …

But good news all around the game was televised on CBS and the Noles won 21-14. They actually are improving and replacing Drew Weatherford with Xavier œX-Man Lee worked well.
