2007-11-01 08:44 "Matador" en Tokyo Game Show 2007
If we saw an in …

2007-10-25 12:32 POR CU LA PS3 NO DESPEGA
...the key issue is simple: PS3 is harder to program for than Xbox 360; and Sony are harder (or rather, were harder) to work with than Microsoft. That's why Kaz Hirai banged on about reaching out to developers and making better middleware development tools at the Tokyo Game Show. Sony know they've got a problem, and have to work double hard to win back the hearts and minds of the developers who control their fate. Only recently, Valve's Gabe Newell trashed PS3, while even Grant Collier of Infini …

2007-10-13 18:33 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue demo, free download Oct. 24th
Big news from the world of Gran Turismo. With the Tokyo Motor Show only a week away, Sony is already prepping for a huge unveiling on October 24th. There are rumors around what Sony could possibly be revealing, but for now the more important news at hand is the fact that GT5 Prologue will be a downloadable demo as of October 20th. That's right, a free download. That explains why Gran Turismo HD was removed from the PlayStation store on September 30th. Chances are that this is the same demo shown …

2007-10-04 11:59 Genuinely Genial Game Gaijin Group Gabfest
In the wake of last month s Tokyo Game Show was another opportunity to follow a variety of lectures and workshops at CEDEC and several symposia at DiGRA. One of these was a roundtable discussion about working as a foreign game developer in Japan, featuring a selection of gaijin from several corners of the world, all painstakingly building their careers in Japan. The line-up can be found on this page, the second section from the top. ( Mr. Dylan Cuthbert was indisposed.) On-line reports of this p …

2007-09-25 18:27 N-Gage at Tokyo Game Show 2007
(click to view image on Flickr) On Friday, September 21st at Tokyo Game Show 2007, Nokia gave two presentations for businesses, developers, and game publications. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the presentations but I can pass on what information I know. The first presentation, entitled "The Next Generation of Mobile Gaming", was about the Nokia N-Gage platform. N-Gage games were demonstrated and the platform's features were described: such as multiplayer gaming, easy network connectivity …

2007-09-21 14:33 kingdom hearts you dirty whore
oh how much it is! tokyo game show happened or whatever and there was apparently this huge display for it! THREE NEW GAMES IN DEVELOPMENT!!!!! omg! on for mobile phones (it's basically a puzzle game so i may or may not get it), one for the DS and *gasp* one for PSP. this game may actually get me to buy one of those damned things. the DS one named 358/2days is apparently the game where you can play as at LEAST axel and roxas while in the PSP called Birth by Sleep you can play as one of the three …

2007-09-21 10:10 Rumble till PS3 pa riktigt
IGN fick chansen att prova Burnout: Paradise till Playstation 3 pa Tokyo Game Show och nar de plockade upp kontrollen markte de att kontrollen helt enkelt skakade. shocker at today's Electronic Arts pre Tokyo Game Show press event. While playing a demo of Burnout Paradise, we felt something that we never thought we'd feel from a PS3 controller -- shake! That's right, Burnout Paradise is the first rumble-equipped PS3 game we've ever played. Which made us think at the time, if the game is making t …

2007-09-20 13:42 TOKYO GAME SHOW PRESENTS: Guilty Gear: Overture
Right, so after a long protracted search for edible food (the yakiniku restaurant is hugely expensive for dinner, apparently, and since I didn't want to spend AUD$75 for a steak and sides we went elsewhere) we're back in the hotel room and it's time for the GG: Overture lowdown. So the full game seems like it's going to be an RTS. The little playable section they have is basically a narrow coridor that zigzags a couple of times. You play as Sol, and you have a couple of (what I assume are) robot …

2007-09-20 09:23 Illusion of Gaia, Rayearth RPG
For whatever reason I was reminded of it and went searching for Illusion of Gaia play vids on Nico. And they existed! Illusion of Gaia was an SNES game I'd always liked, even though I never actually completed it myself...(I think I made it as far as either the Great Wall or Angkor Wat, though my ma has completed it (multiple times). This person has also upped Actraiser vids, which I also liked but never completed (unlike my ma, who has (multiple times)). So I felt nostalgic and decided to look f …

2007-09-06 11:54 Sega s Tokyo Game Show site opens
Today, Sega of Japan's Tokyo Game Show website opened for business. At the moment, it's pretty limited, but you can at least see what the full site will look like when all of the links work. There are five slots at the top of the page for Sega's big games of this year's TGS, three of which are already filled with NiGHTs, Imabikisou and Valkyrie of the Battlefield. Be sure to stick with Sega Nerds throughout TGS for complete Sega coverage.

2007-09-05 05:15 Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Takes a Victory Lap, Humbly, With Level Up
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in his interview suite in Los Angeles As the Wii continues its seemingly unstoppable march towards market dominance, and with the Tokyo Game Show just a few weeks away, we thought it appropriate to reach into our warehouse of as-yet-unpublished interviews for this conversation we had with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during the July E3 Media and Business Summit in Los Angeles. During our interview, Iwata's slightly eager, schoolboyish persona was replaced by a …

2007-09-04 13:33 Sega s TGS floor plan revealed
The floor plan for the Tokyo Game Show 2007 has been revealed, as you can see. The great news is that it seems Sega will have one of the largest stands there, which can only really mean one of two things: eitherthey have a ton of great games to show off, or just some ridiculously large exhibits. Fingers crossed the first will be true. By the looks of the map, Sega will have the joint second-largest stand there. Judging by the layout, it shares a (roughly) same-sized space as Konami and Square-E …

2007-09-02 03:57 The Generosity Of Gamers
So, whether this belongs here, in Gaming+ or in meetups, I'm not sure. However, I'd like to take a moment to say something personal and positive about the community of gamers that we are part of. As some of you might know, I'm currently in the first couple of months of a trip round the world, taking in the USA, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and other exciting places. I write this sitting in LAX airport waiting for my flight to Tokyo. The generosity and hospitality I have experienced during my time …

2007-09-01 00:30 Game Conference 2007 Over, TGS On The Way
With a fairly uneventful E3 we saw a huge increase in attendance at the Games Conference in Leizpig this year. Now, we look towards the future.. September 21st through September 23rd - The Tokyo Game Show otherwise known as TGS. Not surprisingly, they're predicting a large attendance at the tokyo show as well. What happens next year or the year after when the attendance continues to increase My guess, the sheer number of journalists, bloggers and gamers will cause companies to save tidbits of aw …

2007-08-31 22:56 Newsbits 9/1: Game sites, DOT.TUNES, Wrapstar, FF7 case
SCEJ has opened up two official game sites today, one for Patapon and the other for echochrome. Patapon's genre is apparently "Command Carnival", whatever the hell that means. According to the site, players assume the role of God and play 4 different drums to command an army of eyeball creatures into battle. Yeah, guess we'll have to wait and see on that one. The other site is for echochrome, a result of Sony's Yarouze project. It appears to be a M.C. Escher-inspired puzzle game that requires pl …
